Louesa Runge Fine
President
Louesa is a Development Specialist for State Farm Insurance in Columbia, with a focus on leadership development initiatives. She's worked for State Farm for 21 years, having served in underwriting and management positions before joining the Learning and Development department ten years ago.
Louesa holds a Bachelor's degree from Cornell College, with majors in History and Sociology, and a Master's in Education in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, as well as several insurance education designations. She is a member of Women's Network, the Central Missouri Chapter of the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriters and the Society of Insurance Trainers & Educators, currently serving on the program committee for their July 2008 national conference. Louesa sings with the Columbia Chorale, volunteers for the Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts, and served on "Imagine Columbia's Future" Vision Committee.
As president, Louesa's goal is to increase chapter membership and develop a succession plan for Board members. She has been a Central MO ASTD member since 1998, and has served as a Member-at-Large on the Board two different times. Louesa finds the opportunity to interact with training professionals from a variety of work settings very rewarding, and has benefited many times from the experience and expertise of her fellow ASTD members.

Karen Wilms
Vice President Membership
Karen is the Manager of Employee Training for Shelter Insurance Companies based in Columbia. She has oversight for employee skills training, Claims technical training, and leadership development. She's been with Shelter 35 years starting in Underwriting and later moving to Training where she served as a trainer and then manager of Sales Training before becoming the manager of Employee Training in 2000.
Karen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Stephens College as well as several professional insurance designations. She is a member of Women’s Network, serving as co-chair of the Business Owners/Managers committee. Other memberships include the Central MO Chapter of the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriters, Society of Financial Services Professionals, and the Society of Insurance Trainers & Educators. She served for several years on the Stephens College Alumnae Board and currently volunteers at the Central MO Food Bank.
As Vice President of Membership, Karen’s goal is to increase chapter membership and facilitate the networking between current and potential members. She is starting her third year as V.P. of Membership. Learning is a lifelong process and the local and national memberships provide excellent growth opportunities for all training and development professionals. Combine the learning with exceptional networking experiences and you'll know what Karen appreciates about ASTD.

Julie is the Training Officer for Central Bank in Jefferson City, Missouri. She is responsible for the sales, leadership and soft skills training. She has worked at Central Bank for seven years. Prior to that she was an Educational Consultant for a leading telephone company. Julie holds certifications in a variety of topics from Achieve Global, Action Systems, Omega, Center for Leadership Studies and Jack Parr Associates, Inc.
Julie holds her bachelor degree in Management and her Master of Business Adminsitration from William Woods University. She is a member of the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce, Zonta International, Central Missouri Human Resource Association and Society for Human Resource Management. Julie is a 2005 graduate from Leadership Jefferson City. In 2006 she was selected as one of Jefferson City's prestigious 40 Under 40 by the Jefferson City Business Times.
As an active member of her community, Julie served several years on the Salute to America committee and now serves on the governing body as Secretary for the Salute to America Foundation Board, Inc. In the past four years she has served as board member for the Jefferson City Area Council of Clubs.
Julie has served the Central Missouri ASTD Chapter for several years in various capacities including VP Programs and President. As the VP of Communications, Julie's primary role is to deliver a newsletter to the Chapter members.

Kim Kraus
Vice President Professional Development
Kim is the Technical Training Specialist for Central Technology Services, Inc. in Jefferson City. She is fairly new to the corporate training field, but a veteran teacher. She taught Jr. High for sixteen years and served as the school’s technology coordinator for ten years.
Kim holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia, with a major in elementary education. Kim received her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from St. Mary University. Besides being a member of the Central Missouri Chapter of the American Society of Training and Development, she is also a national member.
As Vice President of Professional Development, Kim’s goal is to schedule meaningful programs that will benefit the members. She hopes to learn from the experience and expertise of the board and help the chapter to continue to grow in strength and number.

Susan Groshong
Assistant Vice President Professional Development
Susan is the owner and founder of Lifelong Learning Consulting, a training and consulting company, after having been the training and development coordinator for Campus Dining Services at the University of Missouri for 19 years. Her business specialties include communication and leadership skills, customer service training, team development and personal effectiveness skills. She has over 25 years experience in the design, development, and delivery of training and has worked with corporations, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies. She specializes in the development and delivery of customized training programs based on the unique needs of client organizations. Focused on practical application, interactive, and fun, Susan is known for her creative and spirited training, coaching, and communications.
Susan is also a certified ServSafe instructor and has been a food safety, nutrition, and consumer educator for 25 years. She has given many workshops and trainings in food safety for individuals in the food service industry as well as not for profit companies.
Susan received her BSEd from the University of Missouri at Columbia and has over 30 hours of post baccalaureate class work to her credit.

Angela Alexander
Vice President Finance
Angela is Training and Development Officer at Premier Bank in Jefferson City. She has been with Premier Bank for 4 years-spending the last 3 launching the Training and Development program. This program addresses training needs in job skills, banking regulation, as well as professional development and leadership.
As VP of Finance Angela’s goal is to keep sound financial records, and utilize her banking knowledge to benefit the chapter’s financial status.

Lisa Balty
Member-at-Large
Lisa is a Human Resources Generalist for RR Donnelley in Jefferson City, focusing on recruitment and training for a book printing facility of 600+ employees. Prior to this position, she served as the HR leader for an agricultural financial services organization and has experience as a trainer in state government and the cable TV industry.
Lisa has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, and a Master of Science in Administration degree from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. She currently holds the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification. Lisa is a member of the local SHRM chapter (HRA of Central MO) and served as a Missouri Quality Award examiner for the human resources category in 2001. She volunteers with local theater groups in Jefferson City.
As a member-at-large, Lisa's goal is to support chapter initiatives in all areas and look for her successor in 2009! She has been a Central MO ASTD member since 1998, and has served as the Assistant VP-Finance, Assistant VP-Communications, and a Member-at-Large during her tenure. Lisa has found the chapter to be a valuable resource, whether it’s the monthly programs or the interaction with members and guests, and has enjoyed serving on the board with a great group of training professionals.

Barbara Beermann
Member-at-Large
Barbara is Senior Training & Education Specialist with the Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System (MOSERS), serving active and retired members from most state agencies and a number of colleges and universities in Missouri. Including previous public and non-profit employment, she has more than 20 years experience in education and communications.
She holds a degree from Mizzou, is a member of the National Pension Education Association, and earned the Certificate of Achievement in Public Plan Policy for retirement from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. Barbara is also certified by Langevin Learning Services, the international train-the-trainer organization, as Training Manager/Director, Training Instructor/Facilitator, and Training Designer/Developer. She received the Institute for Children’s Literature writing credential and completed the Family Life Institute program through her church.
A member since 2001, this is her second term as a Member-at-Large. Barbara’s greatest professional satisfaction is derived from helping people understand their benefits.
